Brief Job Description:

Receive and process emergency and non-emergency Police, Fire, and EMS related incidents utilizing a computerized Telephone, radio console, CAD system, mapping, and recording programs. Provide pre-arrival information and instruction to callers, maintaining professionalism and control to appropriately handle the situation. Knowledge of geographical locations beneficial.


Requirements:

• High School graduate or comparable equivalent education

• Pass a written exam, oral interview
• Pass a background investigation
• Pass vision, hearing, and drug test
• Successfully complete the following and maintain certifications:
a. 2 to 4 month hands on training period
b. L.E.A.D.S. certification (every 2 years)
c. 3 day E.M.D. certification (every 2 years)
d. CPR certification/first aid
e. Bloodborne/Haz Mat certification
f. 12 month probation

• Must be flexible to work 24/7, 365 days a year in shifts, weekends, and Holidays

• Typing 30-40 words per minute, using multiple keyboards and programs
• Good verbal communications
• Good hearing and eye sight
• Sit for long periods at a time


Benefits:

• Starting Hourly pay rate part-time: $13.09
• Hourly pay rate 1 year full-time : $14.57
• Hourly pay rate 2 year full-time: $14.86
• Hourly pay rate 5 year full-time: $15.74
• Hourly pay rate 10 year full-time: $17.23

Full time – 10 Holidays 1 1/2 times of pay, 10 paid -vacation days, 12 sick days per year, 2 personal days, health insurance, IMRF.
