ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT -
FOURTH QUARTER 2007 PROGRESS REPORT

The Effingham Progress Report contains a partial listing of new and recently completed projects located within the City of Effingham.

Bray Title Company
A new facility is being constructed on West Jefferson Avenue.

Keller Drive Strip Mall
A new retail/office building designed to accommodate three new tenants is under construction on North Keller Drive.

Hodgson Mill
Hodgson Mill is expanding by 60,000 sq. fot. and adding 35 jobs. The company makes whole grain products including flour, cereals, mixes, batters and pastas.

Stanfield Chiropractic
The Stanfield Chiropractic Clinic expanded by 1,444 sq. ft.  The addition includes space for exam and treatment rooms as well as a future physical therapy department.

In-Home Medical
Site work has commenced on a new facility to be located on North Maple Street.  The new complex will double the size of the current facility.

Mette’s Cabinet Corner
Mette’s Cabinet Corner has just completed a 6,800 sq. ft. addition to be used as warehouse and future production. The business is located on South U.S. Route 45.

Wash and Dash
A new 3,693 sq. ft. car wash is close to completion. The facility, located on West Jefferson Avenue, will house a drive-thru and retail shop.

Schulte Building Systems
Schulte Building Systems is in the process of constructing a new 68,000 sq. ft. manufacturing facility located in the South Route 45 Business Park. The company will produce metal building components and will create 20-30 new employment opportunities.

Mechanovent Corporation/The New York Blower Company
This manufacturer of large industrial fans has completed a 35,000 sq. ft. addition whereby 30 jobs will be added. The company is located on Jaycee Avenue in the Effingham Business Park.

FedEx Ground
FedEx Ground just completed construction of a new 23,796 sq. ft. facility on Heartland Boulevard in the Effingham Business Park.

Rosebud Theatre
This new 1,556 seat live performance theatre is now open. The Rosebud Theatre is located on Outer Belt West and will house big name acts throughout the year.

Effingham Community Sports Center
The design for the sports center is underway. The City is still anticipating the complex to house an ice rink, competition lap pool, and a multi-purpose area.

Kohl’s
A new 69,000 sq. ft. Kohl;s facility was recently opened on a site located north of Wal-Mart.

Kingery Printing Company
Kingery Printing is expanding by 35,000 sq. ft. The expansion will result in the addition of six to 15 employees.

Effingham County Courthouse
The new governmental center is 63,000 sq. ft. and contains four courtrooms, numerous offices, a jail sally port, updated security equipment, telecommunications, data services and a transport tunnel.

First National Bank of Dieterich
The bank is constructing a new 6,200 sq. ft. facility on Fayette Avenue on the site of the former Chamber of Commerce.

Patterson Dental
Patterson Dental is converting one of their buildings from a distribution operation into additional office space and will be adding up to 100 employees over the next four years. The company is located on Althoff Drive in the northern portion of the community.

Wabash Wheel & Brake
The company is close to commencing business and will refurbish wheels and brakes for the airline industry. 35 new jobs have been created to date, and the company currently occupies 70,000 sq. ft. in a facility located on West Evergreen Avenue.

St. Anthony’s Memorial Hospital
St. Anthony’s Memorial Hospital continues to improve healthcare services offered to the Effingham community and surrounding areas with the recently completed renovation of the maternity services. This $2.9 million project enhances the safety, security and comfort for mothers and their newborns. St. Anthony’s is close to completing construction of a new $8.5 million, 45,000 sq. ft. building on the hospital campus which will provide space for St. Anthony’s Heart Care Services, Pain Relief Services, and additional enhancements and expansions of the Surgery Center for ambulatory patients.

Holland Regional Water Line
The construction of this new water line is complete. The line provides a third source of water and will allow for future growth of the community. The line runs from the Kaskaskia River to the City’s Water Treatment Plant.

Fairfield Inn
This new 70 room hotel was constructed next to the Comfort Inn on Evergreen Avenue.
