Current Commissioner of Public Property: Karen Flach
The Public Property Department is a multifaceted and diverse branch of the City of Effingham which provides the following services:
- Oversees and maintains all public property within the City of Effingham
- Oversees and maintains all facilities associated with Bliss Park, the City's oldest park
- Oversees and maintains Oakridge Cemetery, which was established in 1854
- All services associated with events and functions that occur in the downtown area fall under responsibility of the Public Property Department
In addition, this department oversees the maintenance of all City-owned vehicles through its in house mechanics.
Bliss Park - located one block east of the Banker Street overpass at the corner of Park Street and Clark Avenue.
Oakridge Cemetery - located at 912 E. Jefferson Ave., five blocks east of Effingham City Hall.
