The comprehensive management of all provisions of the City's Personnel Policies and Procedures is the mission of the Human Resources Department. These are some of our responsibilities:

  • Union negotiations
  • Managing collective bargaining agreements
  • Managing fringe benefits (health insurance, life insurance, pensions)
  • Monitoring employee earned time-off
  • Facilitating employee retirement planning
  • Workplace safety
  • Managing the City's general liability, auto, workers' compensation, and property insurance
  • Facilitating the Joint Labor-Management Benefits Committee
  • Facilitating the Safety Committee and overseeing safety policy
  • Assisting employees with any needs that are relevant to their work with the City
