The comprehensive management of all provisions of the City's Personnel Policies and Procedures is the mission of the Human Resources Department. These are some of our responsibilities:
- Union negotiations
- Managing collective bargaining agreements
- Managing fringe benefits (health insurance, life insurance, pensions)
- Monitoring employee earned time-off
- Facilitating employee retirement planning
- Workplace safety
- Managing the City's general liability, auto, workers' compensation, and property insurance
- Facilitating the Joint Labor-Management Benefits Committee
- Facilitating the Safety Committee and overseeing safety policy
- Assisting employees with any needs that are relevant to their work with the City
