Disconnect water and sewer service

You can disconnect your water service online or by phone.

If your water is shut-off due to non-payment, a non-refundable $25 disconnect fee will be applied to your account.

Before you start

Please let us know at least 24 hours in advance of the date you want to disconnect service.

What to do

  1. Complete the online disconnect service form or call 217-342-2366
  2. Provide:
    • Date you want to disconnect your water
    • Service address
    • Address to send your final water bill
  3. Verify your identity. You can call 217-342-2366 or visit us at City Hall.

What's next

We will disconnect your water and sewer on the day you indicate. Your final water and sewer bill will be sent to the address you provide.
