Creative Assistant
The City of Effingham Tourism Office is seeking an innovative individual to serve as a part-time Creative Assistant. Starting wage is $15.50/hour at 16-24 hours per week.
This posting will remain open until the position is filled.
Duties:
• Greet visitors at the Tourism Office;
• Answer phone and in-person inquiries from visitors or potential visitors;
• Update Visit Effingham website, various social media sites, newsletter, and event calendars. This includes light graphic design work;
• Assist with special projects managed by the office, including Wonderland In Lights;
• Assist with providing services to special events in the community, including
setting-up and manning informational booths and photo booths;
• Assist with preparing bulk mailings. Process mass mailings and visitor mail requests;
• Perform related work as required or assigned. This may include deliveries and
pick-ups as needed.
Minimum qualifications:
• Knowledge of Effingham and the surrounding area;
• Comfortable engaging with visitors and the community;
• Self-motivated, self-starter, personable, and professional;
• Proficient in standard computer programs, including intermediate experience with Adobe Creative Suite;
• Intermediate writing abilities for various platforms;
• Experienced in navigating various social media platforms;
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds;
• Possess a valid driver’s license.
