All requests for records are processed through the Effingham Police Department Records Division.

Records which must be produced immediately upon demand

  • Arrest records
  • Criminal histories (local records only)
  • Crash reports

Records which are available online

Requestors who seek records which are available online will be directed to the specific website where those records are available.  This includes, but is not limited to, traffic crash reports and historical crime statistics.

Records which may be requested under the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA)

All records which are not available online, or are not required to be produced immediately upon demand, may be requested under the Freedom of Information Act.

Crash reports

Effingham Police Department uses Lexis Nexis, a third-party vendor, for digital crash reporting.  Drivers involved in accidents are given the report number at the scene, along with the other drivers' names.  Other crash report details, including insurance information, are available for purchase online at Quicket.
