The Citizens Police Academy is in progress with 13 participants who are learning about many aspects of law enforcement from the the Effingham Police Department during an 8-week course. The Academy offers an opportunity for our residents to gain unique insights into the work of the police department and to closely interact with our officers and staff.

What happens after the project is complete?

Once the project is complete the project owner needs to report to the final cost of building materials and labor, along with the number of current employees to the Enterprise Zone Administrator in order to close the project.

All sales tax exemption certificate holders will need to report to the Illinois Department of Revenue the year following the project. This takes place in the Spring. The Illinois Department of Revenue will notify through email when the reporting opens. The actual cost of building materials and labor incurred by the certificate holder will be reported.
