Who do I contact if I have water or sewer issues?

If it’s during normal business hours, you can report your issue online. If you have an issue with your water or sewer and it’s after normal business hours, please call (217) 347-5056 for support.

Where is my nearest DMV?

DMV services are available through the Effingham Illinois Secretary of State Facility. Their local office is at 1901 South Fourth Street, Suite 2, across the street from Hendelmeyer Park.

How do I schedule an inspection?

We will inspect your project as work progresses to make sure everything is safe and meets codes and regulations. Even if you don’t need a permit, you will probably need an inspection at some point. You can request an inspection by phone. Please call us 48 hours before you want an inspection. Schedule an inspection.

How do I find out if my water line is lead?

Lead service lines were banned by Congress in 1986, but we believe there may be a few lead lines still in use. If your property had water service before 1987, you could have a lead service line. Find out if your water line is made from lead.

How do I find a hospital?

The main hospital serving Effingham is St. Anthony’s Memorial Hospital. It’s located at 503 N Maple Street, northeast of downtown.
