If you need to make a utility payment, please use the drop box located on the east side of City Hall. If you have a water/sewer emergency, please call the Water Treatment Plant at 217-347-5056. Request off-duty police services

To meet the needs of the community, the Effingham Police Department allows outside employment of off-duty officers for special events such as:

  • Security details
  • Traffic control services
  • Other special event

Off-Duty Police Services FAQs

  • Private organizations
  • Businesses
  • Private entities
  • Individuals
  1. Submit a written request to the Police Chief in advance and specify:
    • Requested dates and times
    • Type of service or services needed
    • Number of officers needed per date/time slot
  2. Enter into an indemnification agreement prior to approval

All compensation is paid by the applicant directly to the officers who provide the services.

The Effingham Police Department will not be responsible for compensation or benefits for any outside employment by an Effingham Police Officer.
