If you are a new parent, grandparent, guardian, or caregiver and need help learning how to install your child's car seat or booster seat, we can help.

If you have not purchased a new car seat, determine which type will fit your child as well as your vehicle.  Check out Office of the Illinois Secretary of State at IL SOS Child Safety for more information.

For your appointment, you will need:

• Your vehicle
• The vehicle manual
• The car seat(s) you wish to install
• The car seat manual
• The child (not required but helpful)

The Police Department is located at 110 South 3rd Street, Effingham, Illinois.  Please park on the west side of the building and come through the doors to the main window for assistance.

A certified Child Safety Passenger Technician will assist and educate you in how to properly install and use your child's seat.
